Eyesight

Our eyesight degrades as we get older and some people are born with poor eyesight. Nevertheless, regardless of the condition of our eyes we should do everything we can to protect our eyesight as it is a valuable sense.

There are many different ways in which you can accidently damage your eyesight, and in most cases this can be prevented quite easily. For example, wearing sunglasses in the bright sun light is vital as regular exposure to bright sunlight can cause serious damage to your eyes, so it's vitally important to wear sunglasses if you're out in the sun. In some cases damage from the sun can be irreversible and quite serious, so it is better to wear sunglasses and be safe, rather than sorry.

If you suspect that your eyesight is failing you slightly then it might be worth having your eyes tested. Most opticians will usually offer free eye tests and they will be able to identify whether or not you have any serious problems with your eyes. If it turns out that you need treatment then you can discuss your options. However, in most cases a pair of glasses is all you will require to correct your eyesight.

Some people will opt for contact lenses instead of glasses as they prefer their discreteness. However, if you don't like the thought of touching your eyes then contact lenses are not for you! There are other options available too such as laser surgery.
